/If you are an iSummit enthusiast who couldn't make it to Sapporo this
year, the good news is that there are a few ways that you can
participate in the event, even if it is 'remotely'./

*Live events*

This year, the opening session, keynote addresses and closing event will
be streamed live through the iSummit website (look out for the video
broadcast button coming soon). They will also be streamed into Second
Life <http://icommonssummit.org/general_information/second-life.html>,
with the highlight of Jimmy Wales' keynote address, which will be
streamed from the virtual world, to the audience in Sapporo. Here's a
list of streaming times:

30 July: GMT 00:00-01:30 GMT and GMT 07:00-08:00

31 July: GMT 01:00-02:00 and GMT 08:00-09:00

1 August: GMT 01:00-02:00 and GMT 05:40-06:20

For details on the keynote topics and speakers, click here
<http://icommons.pentabarf.org/programme/iSummit08/track/Keynotes/index.en.html>.

This year we have an official live blogger covering certain sessions.
He'll be using Cover It Live <http://www.coveritlive.com/>, which allows
you to not only track the details of what happens during each session,
but also to leave comments and ask questions in the live blogging
stream. If you'd like to participate, check out the sessions and times
that our live blogger will be online, and how to participate here.
<http://icommonssummit.org/live-blogging-schedule.html>

We also invite you to join the Skypecast of the Asia Commons meeting
<https://skypecasts.skype.com/skypecasts/skypecast/detailed.html?id_talk=5058967>,
which will be happening on 30 July at GMT 5:00. This is a particularly
important regional meeting to develop a common understanding of the
'Asian Commons' and a strategy for regional collaboration. Read more
about this session here
<http://icommons.pentabarf.org/programme/iSummit08/events/158.en.html>.

*And there's more...*

There will also be a team of reporters who will be updating the iSummit
blog at least twice a day with blog entries about various sessions.

If you're interested in a particular track, be sure to check in on
the iCommons wiki <http://wiki.icommons.org/index.php/ISummit_2008/>,
where volunteers will be taking notes from the sessions and developing
the Checklists on Openness
<http://wiki.icommons.org/index.php/ISummit_2008/Checklist_on_openness>.

Look out for a daily podcast that will feature interviews about the
cultural and entertainment-related events at the summit, vox pops from
the attendees and news from the lab facilitators. We'll also be
releasing daily podcasts featuring key sessions from the DIY Video lab.

And as if that's not enough, we'll also be sending out a daily
newsletter to the iCommons mailing list with samples of the most
exciting coverage coming out of the event.

*If you're at the event*

All you need to do is share! Tag any of your digital content online
(your blogs, videos and photos) as '/isummit08'/, especially your Flickr
photos, which will appear on the Flickr stream on the front page of the
website.

And lastly, if you're serious about getting involved in the
'non-digital' sense, here's an opportunity to make some iSummit friends
outside of the programme schedule: If you arrive in Sapporo a few days
ahead of the iSummit we are looking for volunteers to help us fold
iCommons Annuals on 28 July. If you are available, please come on over
to the Sapporo Grand Hotel, and look for any of the iCommons staff, who
will point you in the right direction.
