                              Creative Commons Italia. <strong>Creative
                                Commons Italia</strong> è il gruppo di
                              lavoro - coordinato dal Centro Nexa su
                              Internet & Società del Politecnico di
                              Torino - che rappresenta Creative Commons
                              in Italia.</p>

                                Commons ha contribuito moltissimo al
                                successo del movimento globale CC:

                            <p style="line-height:18px;">A livello
                              internazionale le licenze CC sono state
                              adottate in numerosi contesti, dai
                              numerosi blog di semplici cittadini della
                              rete a istituzioni come la Casa Bianca
                              USA, da artisti emergenti a band famose in
                              tutto il mondo. I <strong>Radiohead</strong>,
                              per esempio, <i>rock band</i> inglese che
                              ha venduto 30 milioni di dischi in tutto
                              il mondo, nel 2008 ha rilasciato i dati
                              del proprio video “House of Cards” sotto
                              licenza CC. Questa scelta ha scatenato la
                              fantasia dei fan della band: il designer
                              Tiago Serra ha utilizzato <strong>Blender</strong>,
                              software <i>open source</i> per la
                              modellazione e l'animazione 3D, per
                              trasformare il video originale in una
                              serie di coordinate spaziali grazie alle
                              quali è stato in grado di realizzare,
                              tramite un processo di stampa
                              tridimensionale, una <strong>scultura del
                                volto di Thom Yorke</strong>, voce
                              solista del gruppo. Poiché si è trattata
                              di un'opera derivata, e la licenza lo
                              consentiva, per la riproduzione e la
                              distribuzione del suo lavoro Serra non ha
                              dovuto chiedere alcun permesso ai
                              Radiohead.</p>
                            <p style="line-height:18px;">L'album “34
                              Ghosts IV” del gruppo statunitense <strong>Nine

                                Inch Nails</strong> è stato il primo
                              album rilasciato in Creative Commons a
                              ricevere una nomination ai <strong>Grammy
                                Awards</strong>, uno dei premi più
                              importanti degli Stati Uniti per i
                              risultati conseguiti nel settore
                              dell'industria musicale. Nonostante gli
                              utenti abbiano potuto scaricare e
                              condividere liberamente l'album, i NIN,
                              grazie alla vendita di edizioni speciali,
                              hanno incassato <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://blog.wired.com/music/2008/03/nine-inch-nai-2.html">secondo
                                Wired</a> <strong>1,6 milioni di
                                dollari soltanto nella prima settimana
                                dalla pubblicazione</strong>.</p>
                            <p style="line-height:18px;">Anche musei e
                              biblioteche hanno deciso di sfruttare le
                              licenze CC per favorire la diffusione dei
                              propri contenuti. La <strong>National
                                Portrait Gallery</strong> (NPG), nel
                              Regno Unito, <a moz-do-not-send="true"
href="http://www.museumsassociation.org/museums-journal/news/22082012-npg-changes-image-licensing-to-allow-free-downloads">ha



                                apportato quest'anno alcune modifiche
                                alla licenza</a> sulle proprie immagini,
                              consentendo il download gratuito per fini
                              non commerciali: tale cambiamento implica
                              <strong>53 mila immagini</strong> in più a
                              disposizione degli utenti di Internet. </p>
                            <p style="line-height:18px;">Nel 2010 un
                              gruppo di <strong>biblioteche di Colonia</strong>
                              in Germania assieme al Centro
                              Bibliotecario della Renania-Palatinato, ed
                              in cooperazione con il Centro Servizi
                              Bibliotecari del Nord Reno-Vestfalia, ha
                              adottato lo strumento dell'<strong>open
                                access</strong> e del <strong>pubblico
                                dominio</strong> per i dati relativi ai
                              propri cataloghi bibliotecari (<strong>5.4
                                milioni di record</strong>), rendendoli
                              così pubblicamente accessibili e
                              consultabili in rete, nonché
                              riutilizzabili. Tra gli scrittori, <strong>Cory
                                Doctorow</strong>, autore canadese di
                              fantascienza e co-editore del famoso blog
                              Boing Boing, è uno dei più grandi
                              sostenitori delle licenze e la maggior
                              parte dei suoi libri è liberamente
                              scaricabile da Internet. Altri esempi di
                              opere CC sono riportati nel box a seguire
                              su Creative Commons.</p>
                            <p style="line-height:18px;"> In Italia
                              importanti realtà del panorama editoriale
                              come <strong>La Stampa</strong>, con il
                              suo archivio storico, <strong>Il Fatto
                                Quotidiano</strong> e <strong>Internazionale</strong>
                              hanno adottato e messo a disposizione
                              contenuti sotto licenza CC. Stessa scelta
                              è stata adottata da alcuni blog fra i più
                              seguiti in Italia come <strong>Spinoza.it</strong>
                              e il blog di <strong>Beppe Grillo</strong>.
                              Inoltre amministrazioni pubbliche tra cui
                              la <strong>Regione Piemonte</strong>,
                              attraverso il suo <a
                                moz-do-not-send="true"
                                href="http://www.dati.piemonte.it/">portale


                                di dati aperti</a>, enti di ricerca come
                              <strong>Istat</strong> e imprese quali ad
                              esempio Enel hanno deciso di diffondere
                              dati e informazioni sfruttando le licenze
                              CC. Tra i moltissimi esempi italiani di
                              rilascio di contenuti con licenza CC
                              segnaliamo <a moz-do-not-send="true"
                                href="http://lacittadiasterix.blogspot.it/">La



                                città di Asterix</a>, <i>story telling</i>
                              multimediale sul processo di integrazione
                              di alcuni ragazzi afghani in Italia,
                              realizzato dalla giornalista <strong>Carlotta
                                Mismetti Capua</strong>. Oltre ad aver
                              vinto il <strong>premio Ischia di
                                giornalismo</strong>, il progetto è
                              stato riproposto in un <strong>cortometraggio</strong>
                              realizzato da Leonardo Cinieri Lombroso
                              che si è aggiudicato nel 2010 il <strong>premio

                                MyRome</strong>, iniziativa promossa da
                              Camera di Commercio di Roma, in
                              collaborazione con il RomaFictionFest, per
                              celebrare la città di Roma attraverso
                              cortometraggi della durata di cinque
                              minuti. Il progetto è inoltre diventato un
                              libro, scritto dalla stessa Mismetti
                              Capua, intitolato “<strong>Come due stelle
                                nel mare</strong>”, pubblicato sotto
                              licenza CC da <strong>Edizioni Piemme
                                Mondadori</strong>. Molte altre opere
                              Creative Commons sono segnalate
                              quotidianamente sulla pagina Facebook CC
                              Italia e in molti altri forum online.</p>

                              opere. Tra gli esempi più famosi di
                              utilizzo delle licenze Creative Commons
                              c'è sicuramente quello di <a

                              Massachusetts Institute of Technology, che
                              mette a disposizione liberamente il
                              proprio materiale didattico. Anche il sito

                                href="http://www.whitehouse.gov/copyright">Whitehouse.gov</a>,
                              pubblica i propri contenuti sotto licenza
                              Creative Commons, così come anche
                              un'importante azienda farmaceutica, <strong>GlaxoSmithKline</strong>,
                              ha ceduto tutti i diritti del suo set di
                              dati riguardanti la malaria, che comprende
                              più di 13.500 composti noti per essere
                              attivi contro questa malattia.</p>
